Maintenance & Upgrade policy

This section details Project Reader software upgrade policy. This policy is applied starting from Project Reader 2.0.0.

A maintenance update is a version that encapsulates software bug fixes and often includes functional enhancements. Maintenance updates are signified by revision version number increments. For example, a maintenance update from version 1.3.5 would be 1.3.6, 1.4.0, 1.4.1 etc.

A major or minor upgrade is a version that involves extensive engineering work to provide significant enhancements to a product. Major or minor upgrades are often accompanied with new documentation and are signified by minor or major version number increment. For example, a minor upgrade from version 1.4.0 would be labeled 1.5.0., a major upgrade from version 1.5.0 would be labeled 2.0.0.

Project Reader customer are entitled to free maintenance updates. For example if you have bought a version 1.3.7 you can download and use updates labeled 1.3.8. Major or minor updates to applications usually incur an update fee. If you have bought a version 1.3.8 you will be able to download and update to version 2.0.0. for an update fee.

Starting from version 2.0.0 major or minor updates are free for six months from the date of your purchase. On Reserved Area the customers will find the URL to download the upgrade package.

For the Company Licenses we offer a Maintenance & Upgrade contract. The annual fee is about 30% of the total cost of the Company License.
